Cheryl Farley, M.S.Ed., O.D.
Assistive Technology Consultant
Before beginning my role as an Assistive Technology Consultant, I worked in the educational field as a Special Education Paraprofessional at the Elementary School level. I was first introduced to Assistive Technology when my child entered school and was struggling with communication. At the beginning of our journey we had so many questions about what tools could assist him in his academic and social tasks and how to integrate them into his life. Not having a professional to help lead the way led me to realize that other parents and schools may be experiencing a similar situation. This realization led to my further studies, and I received my Masters in Special Education in Assistive Technology and started Adaptech Consulting.
In addition to the many services provided, one of my main responsibilities is to stay abreast of and master new technologies as they are being introduced. Throughout the academic year, I attend both national, state and local assistive technology conferences and workshops. Training sessions with various vendors has led to a positive relationship to better assist my school districts when troubleshooting a software program.
I am excited to share my knowledge and skills with you to make a positive difference in your students lives.
